Generation Zero Carbon Shropshire aims to empower the next generation of Shropshire’s decision makers to create and support the necessary measures outlined in the Zero Carbon Shropshire Plan to reduce the county’s emissions to net zero by 2030. Generation Zero Carbon Shropshire recognises the urgency of the climate crisis and understands that it is not a problem for the future, it is here now and must be faced immediately to ensure that there is a future. There is no time to waste, zero carbon by 2030 cannot just be an ambition, it is a necessity.
Signing the pledge means you support the work of Generation Zero Carbon and want Shropshire to achieve zero carbon by 2030.

Who We Are
We are a warm and friendly organisation and we’re always excited to welcome new members! Please don’t be put off if you don’t have any experience or expertise in climate change issues – all you need is a passion for achieving a zero-carbon Shropshire.

Solution Focused
This approach means we are goal-directed, not only highlighting the issues of climate change but providing and implementing solutions. We offer realistic, actionable advice on how to reduce your carbon footprint both as an individual and an organisation, for example, your school or university. Generation Zero Carbon Shropshire is a future- orientated group because the past cannot be changed but our future still can be.
Community Centred
Shropshire’s communities are everything from city centres to rural hamlets, and this is part of what gives us so much potential! By engaging with and speaking from our communities, we have a huge capacity to have a major impact across our county. Creating real-world change and being a part of this homegrown movement of like-minded young people is an incredible way to include and build local and accessible communities!

We strive to create a community feel where everyone feels welcome, safe and confident in sharing their ideas. There is no pressure to give expert-level advice and ideas, we are just happy to have you part of our team! We want to hear your unique ideas as well as any examples of personal solutions you have discovered to issues facing our environment. Big ideas or small contributions – every little helps!

A positive mindset is crucial if we are to work together to make a difference. We’re optimistic that if we channel the enthusiasm and determination of young people, we can create real meaningful change in Shropshire. Let’s approach the climate crisis with a positive attitude and be confident that we can reach our goal of zero carbon Shropshire by 2030.
